Read more »Sacramento River Settlement Contractors Frustrated by Delay in Implementing the Sacramento River Operations Plan for Summer

The Sacramento River Settlement Contractors (SRSCs) have reviewed the Bureau of Reclamation’s (Reclamation) plan for Sacramento River Operations this summer which is nearly identical to the March 31 plan submitted and approved by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). While the plan is thorough, the SRSCs remain concerned about the time it has taken to reach agreement on the plan by the Federal agencies and the delays in increasing flows in the Sacramento River.
Read more »New Ducks Unlimited Map Displays Extensive Pacific Flyway Habitat in the Sacramento Valley

A new map developed by Ducks Unlimited indicates the various land uses that together make up the Pacific Flyway habitat in the Sacramento Valley. The dominant land use providing habitat is irrigated rice ground. This is joined by sizable acreages of privately managed wetland areas, National Wildlife Refuges and State Wildlife Areas.
