Migration of adult fall-run Chinook salmon into the Sacramento River basin begins in July, peaks during October, and ends in December. Spawning occurs in October through December. After egg incubation, fry emergence from the river gravels occurs during January through February. Downstream movement of fry can begin as early as January during winter storm events through the winter months and smolt emigration occurs during April through June.
